History

In 1959, the first service of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky was held with seventeen in attendance. The church was established by a few people from the east part of the state. Realizing there was no Free Will Baptist church, they decided to start one. In 1962, the current property was purchased, and the sanctuary was completed.

In 2016, the remnants of the congregation decided to call for help. With guidance from the Kentucky State Association of Free Will Baptists and North American Ministries, the congregation decided to allow the church to become a mission project known as church revitalization. In December of 2016, North American Ministries hired Rev. Rodney Brazil as the new missionary for the church. In 2018, Services were suspended while renovations took place. In October of 2018, the church relaunched as Connection Church, A Free Will Baptist Fellowship.

2021 Rev Rodney Brazil Decided to leave and move back to Alabama to be closer to his and his wife’s family.

The Church had hope to keep the doors open and Green River wanted to also keep the doors open. and A new Pastor Gary Bacon and his wife Tammy along with Rev Gary King joined together and preached each Sunday and the story about our Church will continue.

There are great strides being made at Connection Church. As we focus on moving forward, we remember the past and commit to follow the direction from God’s Word as It teaches us to disciple and reach our community. Welcome to Connection Church!
